Wooden Ford T old-timer in Mobihel’s apparel
The wooden replica of the old Ford vehicle from 1919 is the work of carpenter Marko Kveder from Rafolče near Lukovica, who started developing his idea almost ten years ago. In contrast to the original vehicle, the main characteristic of which is series factory production, the replica of the vehicle is hand-made and almost entirely made of wood of Slovenian deciduous trees. For vehicle parts that cannot be made of wood, a mechanic and a blacksmith also came to help. The special wooden car is thus the result of collaboration, help, years of carpeting experience and, last but not least, also the boldness required to make such a project come true.
The wooden Ford T with a wooden structure imitates two vehicles; it is based on Ford T Touring from 1919 and also includes elements of the four-door version from 1923, in order to make it more practical. The car is made according to original Ford plans, while also including some technological improvements and some secrets that cannot be seen at first glance. There is a fridge located under the back bench, and a bar with glasses for four people in the armrest of the front bench. To make it even more fun, there is the radio hidden under the dashboard. After all this, we must not forget that the car is in running order.
Helios Refinish joined this extremely special project this year in spring, by donating refinish materials which will ensure that the wooden Ford is resistant to exterior effects should it get caught by the rain during a summer ride. The department of industrial coatings for wood and metal with their priming lacquer and top lacquer also participated in the project. Otherwise, the car is more suitable for nice weather, as it should not be exposed to rain and humidity for too long. During the truck transport, the wooden old-timer will be additionally protected by a tarpaulin with a Mobihel logotype, so it will be able to safely arrive to a wedding, anniversary, or whichever other event it will be headed to.
